vb6 and blobs

I am running 9.20 using VB as my front end. I have the following table
create table images(
image_nbr int,
picture blob,
primary key(image_nbr)
) put picture in imagedbs;
currently to do my inserts I am using the following statement
insert into images values (1,filetoblob('picture1.tif','client'))What I don't like is having to write my image to a file before I can do =
my insert. Is there any why that I can just use my variable that is =
holding my image to do the insert?
