Trying to connect to an informix database on an RS6000 server from a windows-NT client. I tried using a powerbuilder intersolv driver and got the following error: The setup routines for the PB Informix-connect ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126. I then downloaded a Mercant ODBC driver and got the following error: Specified driver could not be loaded due to system eror 126 (MERCANT 3.60 32-BIT INFORMIX) I really don't know what to try next, any help or a point in the right direction would be highly appreciated. thanks Paul Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
I've downloaded the informix-CLI and spent a LONG time trying to get that to work as well. This is what I have set up: AIX box: /etc/services bbibrs01_service 1536/tcp /informix/etc/sqlhosts: bbibrs01_se seipcpip bbibrs01 sqlexec bbibrs01_se setlitcp bbibrs01 bbibrs01_service windows NT client: windows/system32/drivers/etc/services bbibrs01_service 1536/tcp When running ilogin with the following: server bbibrs01_se hostname bbibrs01 servicename bbibrs01_service protocol onsoctcp username xx password xx database xxxx I get the -908 error and also start to go slightly crazy. If anyone is reading this, please help! Paul Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Hello Paul, Is it possible that you are not setting environmental variables which are critical to the functioning of the drivers? I provide support for Openlink and other ODBC and JDBC drivers and that is the predominant cause of this error. Hope this helps!
