Hi,
I agree with Clem's words and just want to add, that you
should not forget to change the internal system tables
like "systables, syscolumns, sysindexes, sysobjstate". The default
extent sizes for these tables are very small. Too small,
if you want to have more than 500 tables in your database.
I think it's a good idea to first create all your tables
( without loading the tables ) and have a look at the
size of the system tables.
select dbsname, tabname, sum(size) from sysmaster:sysptnext
where dbsname = "yourdatabase" group by 1,2;
Afterwards you can drop and create your database again and
should change the next extent sizes of the system tables
to the appropriate pages found in the output from the sql-stmt
above.
Any comments ?
Bye
