Is there an easy way of restricting users to have read only (ie select) access to all tables ie so that users using ODBC for querying the database do not accidentally delete rows. We are using INFORMIX-SE 7.24 with Informix ODBC Driver, version 3.3/Client SDK 2.30. Thanks Graeme Muirhead g_muirhead@csisystems.co.uk

Grant such users SELECT ONLY on the tables. If the User wears two hats, one that works ODBC Read-only, the other with an Application that updates, you could have a single query-only "user" that they use when working ODBC.
