Informix JDBC 2.0-JC1 connection problem

Hi, Can anyone help me ? I have developed monitoring tool in java. For every server I create a poll-thread, in which I make a connection to this server. After this thread is connected to the database server's ( Solaris 2.6 ) it snoozes ( sleeps for 60 sec ) and lets the other threads do their job. We are monitoring 15 Informix servers. Now for the problem: in certain cases ( very heavy load, no indexes, no update statistics or other problem ) the server gets into a state where any connection to the server hangs. The result of this is that no other threads get any more chance to do their stuff. I've tried setting the INFORMIXCONRETRY and INFORMIXCONTIME environment variables to get a faster time-out, but the connection still hangs forever. I've tried the DriverManager.setLoginTimeout() method, but it doesn't either. Please help me ... j°@c#iM
Check process quotas - the processes and associated threads are probably running out of resources. The online.log will contain messages like -25580 or -25273 etc. Nona >Subject: Informix JDBC 2.0-JC1 connection problem >From: Joachim Claeys joachim.claeys@teleatlas.com >Date: 05.04.00 13:31 W. Hi, Thanks for the reply, but I'm talking about a Java-thread, not an Informix thread. There is nothing but checkpoint info in the online.log. Any other suggestions are welcome. greetings, Jo@chim.
