IDS 9.4 (soon to be 10) AIX 5.3 IBM P560 with several LPARS IBM DS4300 Storage Array I've been revisiting the tuning information this week. We're migrating to different hardware now, and that will be followed quickly by an IDS upgrade. We have a heavily used OLTP system. What are the current target values for Buffer Wait Ratio, Buffer Turnover Rate, and Read Ahead Utilization? BR: < 7 - Smooth sailing < 10 - Rough seas > 10 - SLOW GOING BTR - single digits are good. I like to keep it under around 6 turns/hour or once every 10 minutes. That seems to keep things humming. RAU - As close to 100% as possible. Even 99.00 is suspect. Art S.
