Error in Infomix Log

Hello All, The following error was recorded in the Informix Message Log : 01:00:06 I/O open() chunk 1, pagenum 0, pagecnt 12 --> errno = 13. Is this serious ? What action should be taken ? It has not appeared again for 10 days now. I have not contacted Informix yet. IDS 7.24UC5X running on HP-UX 10.20 Thanks in advance Alex

Errno 13 is: "Permisson denied" so it looks like 10 days ago the permissions on that chunk were incorrect. Perhaps one of the SysAdmins decided to fix the permissions on the device files in /dev/rdsk. Art S. An error like this would mark the chunk 'down'. The error message also indicates that the chunk in question is Chunk 1 - this is the chunk which gets 'created' (as your root dbspace) when the instance first gets initialized. In other words, the error message probably has nothing to do with your current running instance and just shows some of the problems that the person who created this instance (looks like it wasn't you) ran into at the time. I would rest easy. But just to be sure, run an "onstat -d" and make sure that all your chunks are online.
