This is the sort of issue that should be analized by tech support... but at first glance I see errno 2 and 9. 2 is file not found and 9 is bad file number or bad file descriptor.... Do you still "have" your chunk files? Can you read from them? I don't think it's "corruption". Most likely a disk access issue. Or an informix bug if we tried an access with a wrong file descriptor (not likely I would say....) either or... the engine went to read chunk 25 page 1365319 but the os returned no such file or directory. Frank, maybe. Look in the message log when you last started the instance, if the engine did not like the ownership it should have complained about the owner-id and group id not being Informix. However if it was changed while the engine was up and running then yes.. maybe. Change it back and see how things progress from there. Mark

Thanks Mark and Fernando! Somehow the chunk ownership could not been easily controlled by sysadmin , it was sort of frequently changed back and forth somehow secretly and gave headaches ....
