The file apachectl (in my case located in /usr/local/apache/sbin), can do
the job.<br>
Here is an extract from this file in my current configuration:<br>
.<br>
.<br>
<br>
<font face=3D"Courier New, Courier">## |||||||||||||||||||| START
CONFIGURATION SECTION ||||||||||||||||||||<br>
#
-------------------- &n=
bsp; =
--------------------#<br>
#Informix Section<br>
DBPATH=3D//myseserver/mypath;export DBPATH<br>
INFORMIXSERVER=3Dmyseserver;export INFORMIXSERVER<br>
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=3D/opt/informix/lib:/opt/informix/lib/esql<br>export LD_LIBRARY_PATH<br>
etc,etc....<br>
# the path to your PID file<br>
PIDFILE=3D/usr/local/apache/var/run/httpd.pid<br>
</font>.<br>
.<br>
That is, PHP takes the environment variables at the moment you start
apache server, thus,<br>
y running # apachectl start , it will overwrite the current values by
those specified in the<br>
informix section. Also remember that you can sepecify in the logon
function which user and <br>
password to use, regardless of who started apache server.<br>
<br>
