hi guys, I have level-0 backup on N Class HP11 DLT8000, informix 7.3. My problem is when I tried to restore onto a lower end server HP K580 DLT4000, it was aborted immediately. with error couldn't read from tape. I believe it's due to compression format was different between DLT4000 & DLT8000. Appreciated if somebody can shed lights on howto go around this problem. I can't have anymore backup on the N class server, since the data has gone. Regards, Lee __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores. Sounds like you need at least a server with a DLT8000. Do you have this? I guess that you could get the same error if you have a different version of Informix and/or OS on the K580 from that on the NClass.
