Hello,
I've two servers on same machine. Server A, Server B.
I've two scripts: ALARMPROGRAM for server A and ALARPROGRAM for Server
B.
"Onbar -l" in server B run OK. But "onbar -l" on server A don't run.
When this message ocurred, I test server with "onbar -u, onbar -g act,
onbar -g ath". I don't see any proccess like "ontape".
Why !!. I don't understand nothing.
Can I help me ?.
System:
IDS.731.UC2
HP-UX 10.20
1.) you cant see ontape, when you use onbar. Try "ps -ef|grep onbar".
2.) "WARNING: A log backup is already running. Can't start another." is
normal even if you have only one server.
It means, that an onbar is saving a logfile right now and the next logfile
became full while the backup of the
last one was still in progress. A new onbar cant be started, but the actual
onbar will save the second logfile also.
3.) Hmmmm, two servers .... maybe there will occur this problems also ....
never thought about this .... maybe you
have to use a second process "onbar1" or something like this ...

Thanks for you attention,

First notice:

The problem is random.

Well,

When the problem ocurred, I use the various command for test the situation:

ps -ef | grep onbar ...... nothing
ps -ef | grep onbar_d .... nothing

onstat -u | grep informix ..... nothing
onstat -g ath | grep ontape ..... nothing

for to avoid problems with logical log full,
I use manually, onbar -l, until the backup is succesfull, many times.
