Here's an answer to question 1, but it's not very efficient:
select * from tab1 a where 4 >
( select count(*) from tab1 b where a.rowid > b.rowid )
Also, this will only work with versions of the engine that support
rowids ( 5.xx or less )

I am new to SQL and I could use some help..... !!!
1) how would I implement a query so that you only result with first 4
tuples of results?
2) I have two tables:
------------- ---------------
| id | name | | id | content|
--------------- -----------------
| 1 a | |3 | k |
| 2 b |4 | j |
| 3 c | |5 | z |
---------------- ------------------
I want the result table to contain
--------------
| 1 | | I want to list all the column of id from
| 2 | | first field, and if there is a matching then
| 3 | k | write that value, if not then leave it blank.
