Hi Geezer.
How about using ALARMPROGRAM ?
i.e)
In onconfig:
ALARMPROGRAM /informix/ins1/7.31.UD4/etc/log_full.sh # Alarm program path
Here is a part of log_full.sh
23 is log full.
case "$EVENT_CLASS" in
23)
# onbar assumes no operator is present, # so all messages are written to the activity
# log and there shouldn't be any output, but
# send everything to /dev/null just in case
$BACKUP_CMD 2>&1 >> /dev/null
EXIT_STATUS=$?
;;
I think you modify this shell script.
Regards.

Is that because money is tight? Are the company's bean counters stopped from going on their accountancy courses too by any chance? Or do economies not stretch to such "critical business areas" ...?! It is safe to back up logical logs at any time.
This is really a false economy by your business not sending you on the training! When you have a critical system issue, what will you do if you haven't gone through the training. If you are unclear about how to backup the system, how does your company expect you to restore it when it fails? Unfortuately, like so many companies, they'll wait till there has been a major problem before the understand the benefit of having the proper training!!
