I have been playing around with Delphi for about 2 weeks or so now. I have read 2 books on it. I am just now starting to get into the manuals that come with Delphi. The one problem that I have not been able to figure out yet is how to clear my form so I can do a find. It is easy to do an add or update or scroll through the records. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it into search mode. What I was trying to do is very simple. I create a table that had 4 fields in it. And I wanted to create a screen that would let me do an ADD, FIND, UPDATE, DELETE. I can do everything but the FIND. Now I know with NewEra that I can do this pretty easy. I have not fooled around with NewEra for over a month and I know that I could do this pretty easy. The more I play around with Delphi the more I am starting to like NewEra. I know it has some short coming like you have to write code to do a master-detailed screen. This is a piece of cake with Delphi. If you have any input I would love to hear it. I know a lot of people don't like NewEra. I think it is because of the cost. But I still think it is a good tool. I have been able to find a fault in every tool that I have looked at. Jam6- to damn hard to set up Uniface- you are limited in what you can do/you have to do it their way. Powerbuilder - you have to write a lot of code to do anything
