Question is why/where. can you repeat this... and export AFDEBUG=1 ontape -r when it fails do a onstat -D this will tell you how much has been restored... if this is 2 GB then dd your file to a real tape ( or remote machine and hope that it can be tricked...) using the blocksize used. Best is real tape or search this news group for some additional hacks... repeat the restore and see what happens.... hopefully you are lucky....
