Sar is the accounting and reporting tool
for System V versions of Unix. The collection of data is usually
controlled by cron and the data is stored in
the /var/adm/sa directory (typically) and
each data file is of the format sadd
where dd is the day
of the month. The files are interpretted by the
sar utility.
sa
Sa is the BSD version of
sar and provides similar information. Again
the system documentation will detail the exact meanings of the various
fields that are reported.
