DROP chunk error.

Hi,all While I want DROP a CHUNK(/usr/informix/disk/wjfl3) from the DBSPACES,I had drop the tables which in the CHUNK. These have TBLSPACE TBLSPACE 435002 50 FREE 435052 89235 report from oncheck -pe, So when use "onspaces -d <dbspace> -p <chunkpath> -o <of> " to drop THE CHUNK,get ISAM error "chunk is not empty!". HOW/WHY the "TBLSPACE TBLSPACE" occur? AND how to drop the CHUNK? It contains the partition header page for tables, detached indexes, and fragments of these. It looks like the tablespace tablespace was extended onto this chunk because the other chunk(s) of the dbspace were full, probably to create the tables you dropped. However, like all other IDS tables, the tablespace tablespace is not truncated or compressed when a row is deleted. The only thing you can do is to dbexport the database and drop it. Then you can drop the chunk and dbimport the database. Art S. Hi Netsky, The tblspace tblspace entries are not tied to databases, but rather dbspaces. Any database object, for any database in that dbspaces is represented in the tblspace tblspace. As you get more datbasee objects, you get more tblspace tblspace entires, which eventually leads to additional extents like what you showed us below. Since IDS doesn't allow for users to drop internal system tables, it means that you have to call IBM Informix Technical support to remove the chunk or the dbspace, depending on what you want. It also appears at the moment, that at least by our documentation you cannot prune the tblspace tblspace table in any version. The good news though is that beginning in version 10 you can size the tblspace tblspace table's first extent and next extent. For dbspacess that expect to have a lot of tables, or detached indices this can really help. To reference the manual You can specify a non-default size for the first and next extents for a tblspace tblspace in the following ways: For the root dbspace, set the TBLTBLFIRST and TBLTBLNEXT configuration parameters.For non-root dbspaces, use the onspaces utility -ef and -en options when you create a dbspace. But again to your original problem, you need to contact Tech Support.
