onmode -BC 1

All,
I need to allocate a very large smart blobspace to a client's instance
(11.50.FC8 AIX ) that has expanded chunks disabled. Since the size of this
blobspace needs to be 512 gigs, I need to have expanded chunks enabled since I
don't want to allocate a whole bunch of 2 gig chunks. It's been a long time
since I last dealt with this type of situation which is to run onmode -BC 1
(to enable expanded chunks for newly created dbspaces only ).
Is there is anything else I would need to do other than take a level 0 archive
afterwards ? I probably will have to do this without shutting down the
application so there will be transcation activity on the lighter side .
All advice is welcomed...
Thanks,
Mark
Why 2 GB chnuks? Not able to have 10, 20 or 50 GB... chunks?

Remember that while have onmode -BC 1 that each I/O operation is doing
extra work to maintain backward compatibility.
You really want to run onmode -BC 2 as soon as possible.
To verify this has been done look at the bottom of the onstat -d command
and you should see a line with the expand chunk mode set to "always".
"Expanded chunk capacity mode: always"
