cannot add index - dbimport error
Posted in 2006
A dbimport (IDS 9.40) failed when creating a unique index with error 212 "Cannot add index" plus ISAM error 28 "No space left on device". Initial suggestions were that the target dbspace was full, but onstat -d showed free space in the data and temp dbspaces. The real cause: DBSPACETEMP was not set in onconfig, so index builds used the operating system /tmp filesystem, which ran out of room. Setting DBSPACETEMP to the existing tempspace1 and tempspace2 dbspaces let the dbimport complete successfully.

Hi,
I think the dbspace in which you are importing the database is full.
If dbspace is not the issue then add space to your temp dbspace.
Informix requires temp dbspace for the index creation.

thanks shaari, nandkishor, marcus haarmann, and Luis Panozzo Saavedra.
the problem has found. /tmp directory doesn't have enough space,
so I changed DBSPACETEMP to tempspace1 dan tempspace2
I run dbimport again and dbimport has completed
