More memory to dbdatas

Hello, Im installing more HDs for informix uses... i know how to create the metadevice, the chunks, to link the dbdata to the chunks... but my doubt is how to format the HD as a raw device to be used by the informix! Im using Solaris 5.8, and im connecting the HD on a HBA in my server.. any help is welcome! and sorry the poor english! thanks

There's no formatting required. Just create the RAW or character
device, create a link to it in a convenient place, and run onspaces to
add the chunk to the dbspace that needs it or to create a new dbspace.
Onspaces will create whatever structure IDS needs for you.

Hi Paul,
how is the actual disk structure?
Do you use any file system tool such as Veritas?
first of all, send us the onstat -d output, and then we can start
helping you a little.
Just for curiosity, This is a Metrica Software instalation?
Because of your old questions, the sql sentences looks like it's using
a Metrica datablade.
