Hi all..
I just installed my first Solaris 8 machine and I have run into a sticky
problem with 9.21.uc2.
Engine starts fine. Dbaccess runs fine. ISQL only works via a shm
connection. When I attempt to use a net connection, I get a -25572
(network driver cannot bind a name to the port).
HOWEVER, if I go to a different machine and try to come in using ISQL
and tcp, evcerything is okee dokey.
B-T-W, I also get this same -25572 error from various pieces of Patrol.
I just reinstalled everything from scratch today just to make sure that
all of the t's were crossed and the i's were dotted. I even altered my
sqlhosts file to use a direct port number instead of the /etc/services
entry and no, the port is not in use by someone else or the external tcp
connection would not work.
My first attempt at all of this stuff was to use 9.21.fc2. I never tried
ISQL there because I got the -25572 trying to run ipload and immediatly
dropped back to 9.21.uc2.
Anyway, all of this seems to point to an executable problem and not a
tcp problem.
Has anyone had any luck using this config? Any thoughts?
tnx....
