I am trying to use opaque types with C++. Are there anybody who knows if this is possible? And are there a place where i can read about it? Christine

We have blades implemented in 'C', 'C++', and even FORTRAN. In practice, C++ presents a long list of challenges, some of which are simply impossible to overcome. The most important of these relate to the way that 'C++' -- unlike 'C' -- does not have a standard binary library format. Different compilers play different games with method names to sort out what's what, and it is an extremely difficult challenge to support all of them. check out http://www.informix.com/idn/ for more details on what is and isn't possible related to C++ blade development. My advice is to use 'C': none of the advantages of C++ really apply to the Blade Development paradigm, which is all about supporting additional SQL operations.
