INFORMIXSERVER value not listed...
"INFORMIXSERVER value not listed in the sqlhosts file or the registry. -25596" Hello, Trying to connect (oledb) to a db via a certain application I get this error -25596, yet using the same connect string from a different app on the same PC to the same database works fine. The INFORMIXSERVER value *is* listed in the registry. Has anyone seen this error come up for some other reason? Ideas? Thanks Jason.

Hello, Here is information on the error from the manual "Informix Error Messages": -25596 The INFORMIXSERVER value is not listed in the sqlhosts file or the Registry. The default database server name that the INFORMIXSERVER environment variable specifies must be a valid database server name in the file $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts on UNIX or the Registry on Windows. Check that the specified server is listed in the sqlhosts file or the Registry. The client machine is a NT4(SP6) server connecting to Informix2000 on NT. Both applications developed with Visual Studio, the one that works using VB6 and the one that doesn't using C++. As I said, the INFORMIXSERVER is listed correctly in the registry of the designated INFORMIXSQLHOSTS machine. I suspect this problem is with the client since a similar client machine doesn't show the same error when connecting. What I can't explain is why the VB app works and the C++ app doesn't. Thanks.
