I have 2 Sun Solaris machines. On one (called transgis), it has the
following:
SQLHOSTS:
trans7 onipcshm transgis sqlexecx (sqlexecx is
not in services)
trans7t ontlitcp transgis sqlexec7
ONCONFIG:
DBSERVERNAME trans7
DBSERVERALIASES trans7t
SERVICES:
sqlexec7 1526/tcp
HOSTS:
ip address transgis
ip address transmap
This machine has people going into shared memory and connecting via I-NET
on the PC with no problems.

PROBLEM:
On TRANSMAP (my other Solaris machine), the user just wants to connect to
TRANSGIS. I was told by one Informix help person that you had to install
online for a Unix2Unix connection; that they did not have an I-NET for
Unix... after installing online and not being able to connect, a
different Informix help person asked why I didn't get I-NET for Unix. I
am checking into whether or not this I-NET for Unix exists, in the
meantime, I can't get the TRANSMAP connection to work. I have the
following:
HOSTS:
ip address for TRANSGIS
ip address for TRANSMAP
SERVICES:
sqlexec7 1526/tcp
sqlexect 1535/tcp
I have tried everything for the DBSERVERNAME and DBALIASES and SQLHOSTS
file. I always get an ASF_INIT_FLAG error or a -25572 error in
the log. Sometimes, I get no error, but online won't come up.

PROBLEM2:
Notice that onsoctcp is valid for sqlhosts, but onmonitor does not
recoginize it
as a valid NETTYPE. The only valid NETTYPES are:
ipcshm tlitcp tlispx ipcstr
