Error 908 when accessing data with syntax database@INFORMIXSERVER:table

Hello, I'm accessing Informix Dynamic Server running on NT-machine with dbaccess from an Unix-machine. Everything seems to work, except opening the connection takes 5-10 secs and also selecting a database takes same amount of time. Trying to execute command select * from database@INFORMIXSERVER:table gives an error: 908: Attempt to connect to database server (INFORMIXSERVER, conerr=-25555, oserr= That gives me a headache because I need to make a trigger which updates a table on this NT-machine whenever changes are made to the original table in Unix-side. Any ideas? PS! The same configuration works in another place. Can it be timing problem, IP-addressing problem, ..

Try pinging both ways with the names (not the numbers) of the machines. Nona
