It just occurred to me IX is roman numeral 9 which is the current Informix version number. Maybe they could change the name to that, and then the next release would be X (-roman numeral 10). ... "don't pay the ferry man" a rock song from the eighties playing in the background.. a nervous looking CEO sitting in a rocking boat with the Grim reaper pushing an oar in the background.... "When it comes time to make that change in your business's decision making process.. Boat comes to rest on a rocky shore and CEO gets out.. turns to pay the Ferryman.. lightening flashes, thunder comes from the hidden horizon.. "Don't cross the river Styx alone..." CEO reaches into his pocket and pulls out what looks like a PDA, and turns it towards the Grim Reaper.. "cross it with IX" Bold letters light the display.. Emblazoned with the digits "IX" and transitions to a blinding white light.. Grim Reaper shields his face turning back to the uncertain horizon.. fade to white.. "IX - Information Management for the 21st Century" "Portable, Reliable, Scalable" "Simply, IX"
