Because no defined lexical ordering exists for these types, the database server does not know how to sort or compare them. Therefore it cannot build an inverted index. Possibly you understand the data well enough to understand how to extract an ordered set of key values from it. If so, perform the extraction into a separate column in the same table, and index that column.
