Informix Error -1307: Cannot insert another row - the input array is full.
Cause and resolution
Cannot insert another row - the input array is full.
You are entering data into an array of records that is represented in the program by an array of program variables. That array is now full; no place is available to store another record. Press the ACCEPT key (usually ESCAPE, but see the operating instructions that the program author supplied) to process the records that you have entered.
Oninit® Troubleshooting Guidance
Reasons / Common Causes
-1307 is the 4GL-program equivalent of -1126: it fires when the user tries to enter another row
into a program array that's already at capacity during INPUT ARRAY — per the official
guidance, the array of program variables backing the screen array is full, with no place to
store another record.
- The program array has reached its declared maximum size, per the official guidance — the same direct cause as -1126; there's no room for another entered row.
Solutions / Resolution
- Press the ACCEPT key (typically
ESCAPE) to process the data already entered, per the official guidance — see -1126 for the full detail. - If more rows genuinely need to be entered, increase the program array's declared size, if that's the actual design intent.
Examples
N/A
This is the 4GL-program wording of -1126's condition — see -1126's examples for the underlying array-capacity mechanism.
Diagnostic Checks
- Check the program array's declared size against how many rows the user is actually trying to enter, per -1126's diagnostic approach.
